I was not in the race in 2022. Here are some facts about NY-04, 2022.
Why We Lost In 2022
There were approximately 85,000 more voters that came out in our district, NY-04 in the 2022 congressional election, more than any other congressional district in New York State. We lost this race because the majority of voters did not vote for the democratic candidate. The democratic candidate lost the race by close to 10,000 votes to a new comer. This is traditionally a blue district and a race we should have never lost.
About Pat Maher
I am the democrat in the 4th Congressional District that will win in 2024. I am an 18-year democratic committeewoman and the Vice-President of the Baldwin Democratic Club. I won two primaries in a truly republican district years ago. I came an inch close to winning a local legislative seat. I have a Juris Doctor degree from Touro Law School and an LL.M. in health law and policy from Hofstra University Law School. I also worked as an extern in the United States Attorney’s Office researching laws on controlled substances and habeas corpus petitions.
I will campaign harder than my democratic opponents and I need your help. When I win the democratic primary, my Republican opponent will have over $1 million in the bank. If you spread your donations around it is a better strategy to win back the house. So when I win the primary, I will have the money to beat my Republican opponent, D'Esposito.
My Democratic Opponents
Since George Santos has arrived on the scene, not living in the district will not beat a "street smart" ex-police officer and only alienate more voters. There are a couple of democratic candidates that when they announced to run for congress were not registered to vote in NY-04 because of their residence. One of those opponents is a current State Senator that was redistricted out of his own district and does not live in our district. If you don’t want to live in our district, than you should not run in our district for office.
When I win the democratic primary, I will need the money to beat republican Congressman D'Esposito. We need this seat to take back the house majority. I have been working hard to organize the district by holding town meetings so that we as democrats have a base that comes out on election day.
I need your support and spreading your donations around will ensure that we win back the house majority. This is a crucial race. The 4th C.D. has been held by a democrat since 1996, when Carolyn McCarthy was elected and then Kathleen Rice held the seat as representatives in Congress.
Why I am running
I am running for Congress because women's rights and human rights across the country are being reversed. When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade declaring that the constitutional right to abortion no longer existed, we were all in shock. addressing.
Student Debt Crisis
The student loan debt crisis effects 43 million Americans totaling $1.73 trillion dollars. We need corporate America to come on board to expand their hiring process by including a benefit package that includes direct payments to service providers to help students pay-down their debt. As an incentive the private sector would receive tax credits for their efforts. Other solutions include mandatory disclosure of the costs of a student's educational degree by universities prior to a student's start in college and increasing the Pell Grant limits.
While student debt disproportionately impacts those from under-represented groups, it effects everyone across the board.
Assault Weapon Ban
We also need a ban on all assault rifles which are weapons of mass destruction, and universal background checks. which are weapons of mass destruction, and universal background checks.
The Supreme Court on a 5-4 vote reinstated the Biden administration’s regulations on “ghost guns,” firearms assembled from kits without the usual serial numbers and background checks on purchasers.
Let’s not stop!
Donate $50 or $100, $250, $1000 or whatever you can so I can get elected to Congress and sponsor a Bill that can be passed into federal law for UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS for prospective gun owners. This will ensure that no state can change the law and prospective gun owners cannot cross state lines and avoid the background check.
Donate whatever you can to keep our families safe.
